Melissa Strader, LMSW

My name is Melissa and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I am here to provide a welcoming, confidential, safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself, recognize your strengths and reach your goals. I believe it is important to meet you where you are – we will work collaboratively at your pace using a variety of methods to help you overcome obstacles, manage symptoms and build a path towards recovery. My passion for therapy is grounded in connecting with people; evidence shows that when we connect with others, we live happier, longer lives. My approach is client-centered and open-minded, using evidence-based treatment to empower you to make changes, restore balance in your life and heal. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy using a strengths-based perspective and an empowerment approach. I can also employ mindfulness techniques to help restore balance and well-being to your life. My experience includes helping clients of all ages navigate anxiety, depression, post-partum depression, ADHD, stress, parenting challenges, life transitions, self-esteem and chronic illness. I have worked in the mental health, substance use and integrated health fields for over 20 years helping people feel the best they can. Let’s work together so you can live the life you deserve. When I am not working, I enjoy going on adventures with my husband and 2 daughters, swimming, reading mysteries and memoirs, watching documentaries and trying new restaurants. I’m originally from Chicago, but I have been in Arizona for about 17 years and consider it home!
